I have been called out by my bro, BDD, so I can't let him down. Here is a new post and I will even add a music video!!!
I have had great training over the last couple of months. I am riding on this high hopefully all the way to Sept 22, when I tackle the 1/2 IM distance again at the Redman triathlon in Oklahoma City. My brother, Chad, and are doing this race together and this will be Chad's first race. I am definitely excited!
I have had some great rides. I have been riding about 50-60 miles each Sunday over some very hilly terrain. My times have been good given the hills and last week I really killed the ride. I averaged 16.1 mph of course I only had 1230 feet of climbing! Given the course in Redman is flat, I am very confident I will have a great ride. My swimming is going well also. I am averaging 1:50 in my 100's and that should put me swimming the 1.2 miles in 38 minutes, according to a swim pace chart I found on Trinewbies. If I don't choke I will be ecstatic with that time. Now it comes down to my run. I will admit, I am having problems with my ankle this week but my running is getting better. Yesterday I did 11 miles in 2 hours for an average pace of 10:50 per mile. Jazzed again. And oh yeah, BDD, I did puke a little in my mouth during my run so do I get a pukie?!!! I think I can pull together a great race.
I haven't even done my race yet but I am already trying to figure out what is going to be my next race. I need to get a couple more 70.3's in my body before I jump up to the full. But it is tempting to just take the leap and go for the next distance. I love training!! I don't like thinking of not having a goal race in my future so any suggestions would be appreciated. Are any bloggers congregating at one race next year?
My job is going very well. I actually like it and if you knew me and jobs you would be surprised by this statement. The work is not hard and I get to wear shorts to work. That is not to say that I still don't want to move closer to family because I absolutely do!! I am just willing to wait a little longer so that I can pay off credit cards.
I hope y'all are well. I am sorry I haven't visited your blogs lately. I just don't have the time I used to have in the past. If we aren't Facebook friends then please hit me up. I am great at keeping up with pals that way!
And as I promised here is my favorite summer video and song. I hope you enjoy it!
Until later keep swimming, running and riding to your personal greatness!
Glad to hear you are doing well, and your training sounds great! I'm happy that you got a job you enjoy--please post more, I miss hearing from you!
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy to hear things are going well (did you get my FB message?)!! Thanks for the update, miss you!!
ReplyDeleteI just did a little triathlon last weekend and thinking that may be it for me for awhile, but I may be convinced to do something next year :).
Happy Training!
Sounds like you have been a busy woman...good luck in your training sweetie!
ReplyDeleteTraining is good!
ReplyDeleteShould be a great race
Now that you mention it I did a little spitting up on the course yesterday.
I think I need a "pukie" award also!!
Sounds like you're having fun. Keep it up!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad everything is going well! :) The new job too!
ReplyDeleteI like everyone else am sooo happy that things are going so well for you! It all sounds great! Those are some pretty impressive numbers and I'm thrilled for you!
ReplyDeleteSo great to hear from you again. Glad training and the job are going well. I'm still trying to decide if I am going to go to Redman. It seems like an awful lot of time in the car for a sprint and I'm just not sure I can do the Oly yet. There is a sprint at the same time as the Branson 70.3 (which is the same weekend) that is 4 hours closer. Got to decide this week though. Take care and best wishes as you try to decide what to tackle next. You know I love those big hairy goals!
ReplyDeleteGlad the the things go well.
ReplyDeleteIt's very nice that you and your brother will race together: good luck!
Makes me so happy to read this!!! I am happy for you
ReplyDeleteI am going to email you a race I am thinking of doing next season, should be a lot of people there, you have ties to the area, maybe you will consider it as well
