Manic Monday!

Okay, my Monday's are not manic since the lay-off but it is the only title I could think of! So what is up in my world? Not much really. Yesterday I got on a roll and registered for several events.

  1. Cherry Creek 5 miler
  2. Buena Vista Metric Century
  3. Elephant Rock 65 miler ride
  4. Denver Century
I think that will get me out and riding in enough variation in terrain to help me train for Triple Bypass. I had kind of forgotten that I was doing that ride so I thought maybe I should get to training!

Let' see what else... Well, I believe that I am on a running streak. I ran 7 straight days last week. Wow, that is very unusual for me. My body doesn't cooperate well when I do that but so far I am doing okay. I think I will keep on that path until the body says stop!

Easter was a pretty good day for the family. We didn't get to go anywhere because my boys are sick so I made Shepard's Pie, which by the way they were not too sick to eat the whole pan. Then we had a "Blade" marathon. Yes, we like to watch horror movies on Easter. I don't know why but this is not the first time we have done this. I guess we are just crazy that way.

That's all I have for today but I will leave you with a Reba pic since I haven't done that in awhile. Yes, she is getting very big!

What a sweet face!

  11. You've got a nice array of bike events lined up and capped off by the Big Daddy - Triple Bypass! Woo-hoo! No Copper Triangle this year??? Reba is indeed growing up - losing her little puppy look - but still so cute - and oh, that face! :-)

  12. Reba is so sweet. Lots of saddle time for you coming up. I will reconsider the Denver Century. I still plan on doing the ER Century so I better get myself on the saddle. Great running!

  13. Mondays no matter - are always my least favorite day of the week. As the Boomtown Rats (Bob Geldof) said once - "I want to shoot the whole day down ..." Not really of course. Yet, I could do without most of them.

  14. Sorry you guys had sickness too! Those races all look great! My running streaks last for 2 days, I need a day off in between or else I fall apart : )

  15. Mmmm, shephard's pie - the ultimate in comfort food! Nice job on the running and the event sign ups.

I'm starting to think about races for the summer into the Fall. So many races, so little time....

  16. So glad you are doing the Denver Century! I would love to do that ride up in Buena Vista sometime! I think it is beautiful up there! Your going to have a great year!

  18. fun schedule you have!

I am hopefully doing the 5 mile Cherry Creek Sneak - just waiting for permission from Darren.

I would strongly recommend pre-riding parts of The Triple course as part of your prep. The ride up Squaw Pass is a doozey and then the ride to Loveland Pass is looong and hard! If you want company - I'd be willing to play tour guide and ride with you after May 20th. :)

  19. Congrats on signing up for all those events! I would really love to do a century, but I have to get in way more bike miles first. Right now the longest ride I've done is 46 miles.

    1. I shouldn't be running that many days in a row either! I just decided to see if anything has changed. Guess what, it hasn't!

  21. I hope that your boys feel good now. Is the Shepard's Pie a good cure?
